A REAL look into abuse VERY powerful!

I've of the first things Kristina says in her story is how much crap she thinks the sappy stories about women who have overcome abuse and are now do very happy. Her words are a bit stronger than mine. She pulls no punches, and tells it all, the way it happened.
The story is told from her hospital bed as she is recovering from her husband's latest attack, wondering why he hasn't come to see her.
At first the street was a little too angry and raw for me, but the story works and is as powerful as it is because of the rawness and truth. It does get better, read it. Maybe it will help you understand why abused women stay, and what recovery REALLY LOOKS LIKE.. This book may help you save someone's life, maybe your own.

A truly honest tale

Even though the subject matter of this short is very disturbing, I applaud the author for being so honest and forthcoming with her account of the horrors she endured at the hands of people who were supposed to love and protect her. She did not end the story with a pretty red bow.
I felt the emotions along with the author while reading this story. She suffered some truly horrific things, from many different people in her life. She survived and rebuilt her life. She also found a way to take her experiences and help others. This is truly an inspirational story.
I hope that many will read this true account of multiple forms of abuse suffered by one courageous woman.

Authentic and I can totally relate to book.

My understanding is that this is based on a true story. I'm sorry to hear that this happened to the author. The story comes across as authentic and is memorable.
But the whole story seems like it was written in a drug induced daze and seems to go back and forth throughout the story. As a survivor of similar circumstances, I totally understand where its coming from. It seems like the author is verbally telling the story aloud.
Four stars only because the back and forth is a little confusing at the beginning.
